Types of Scholarships –
A) Government scholarships
i) Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship – This is available for students who have enrolled in a postgraduate degree in environmental and social science or health studies. It provides an award of Rs 42,45,756.
ii) IDRC Research Awards – Applicants of this scholarship must be participating in master’s or doctoral programs in developed countries (masters scholarships in Canada).It provides travel and research support of up to Rs 9,09,805.
iii) Vanier Graduate Scholarships – Applicants must be deserving, with testing ability and leadership abilities.It provides an award of Rs 30,32,574.
iv) Partnership Grants by Social Science and Humanities Research Council in Canada – Applicants must be pursuing a PhD in a particular subject at one of Canada’s qualifying universities. It covers a total sum of Rs 12,12,785.
v) Canadian Studies Post-Doctoral Fellowship – Applicants who have completed thesis in last 5 years, is not employed, length of stay 1-3 months are eligible for this scholarship which provides Rs 1,51,598/month & airfare up to Rs 6,06,392 to Indian students.

vi) Ontario Trillium Scholarship – It provides Rs 24,26,301 for PhD students in Ontario.
vii) Canada-ASEAN SEED – Mid-career professional from ASEAN countries receive Rs 6,06,392 for cost of program Rs 3,03,327 for flight, visa, health insurance Rs 97,064 weekly allowance under this scholarship.
Viii) Ontario Graduate Scholarships – OGS are made possible through a partnership between the Canadian government and participating organisations. It provides Rs 9,09,794.
ix) Quebec Provincial Government Scholarship – It is for Master’s students studying in Quebec Canadian universities. It is facilitated on the basis of merit. Doctoral students are offered Rs 15,16,269/year and postdoctoral students are offered Rs 21,22,993/year.
B) Non-government scholarships
i) Anne Vallee Ecological Fund – Students doing animal science at the doctoral level at universities in British Columbia or Quebec are eligible to apply. A sum of Rs 90,985 will be provided under this scholarship.
ii) Trudeau Scholarships and Fellowships – This felicitates a total of 15 scholarship awards of Rs 36,39,418 to international students seeking doctoral degrees in Canada.
